KALAMAZOO -- The Western Michigan University Alumni Association board of directors has elected new officers and directors for 1997-98.
Officers elected to one-year terms are:
President--Robert G. Miller, sales manager for K-Lift Materials Handling Equipment in Kalamazoo. Re-elected as president, he received a bachelor's degree in 1972.
Vice president--Wyatt Kirk, associate professor and department chairperson at North Carolina A&T State University in Greensboro, N.C. He received a bachelor's degree in 1963, a master's degree in 1969 and a doctoral degree in 1973.
Treasurer--Jeanne Carlson, vice president of the General Motors account/J619 at Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Michigan in Detroit. She received a bachelor's degree in 1968.
Past President--Robert Ethridge, associate vice president-equal opportunity at Emory University in Atlanta. He received a bachelor's degree in 1962 and a master's degree in 1970.
In addition to those officers, four directors were elected to one-year terms on the board's executive committee. They are:
Kevin Carter, senior partner at Carter & Carter, PC in Bingham Farms, Mich. He received a bachelor's degree in 1989.
William Higley, senior vice president of Interstate Welding Sales Corp. in Marinette, Wis. He received a bachelor's degree in 1969 and a master's degree in 1970.
Francine Rossi, president of AS-RA-TECHnologies Inc. in Chicago. She received a bachelor's degree in 1970.
Thomas Vance, senior public relations specialist at Pharmacia & Upjohn in Kalamazoo. He received a bachelor's degree in 1978.
Also, one new director was appointed to a four-year term on the board by WMU President Diether H. Haenicke. He is:
Todd Regis, union representative for United Food and Commercial Workers Local 951 in Grand Rapids, Mich. He received a bachelor's degree in 1989.
