KALAMAZOO -- Forty-nine Western Michigan University students have been named to the 1998 edition of "Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges." (See list below.)
The "Who's Who" program honors outstanding campus leaders for their scholastic and community achievements. Criteria for selection include academic achievement, service to the community, leadership in extracurricular activities and potential for continued success. Recipients were chosen by a nominating committee of WMU faculty and staff members and by the editors of the annual directory.
Those selected join an elite group of students from more than 1,400 institutions of higher education in the United States and abroad. Outstanding students have been honored in the annual directory since it was first published in 1934.
The WMU students will have biographies of their accomplishments published in "Who's Who" as well as receive lifetime use of a job reference service.
