KALAMAZOO -- The Western Michigan University Board of Trustees will take up the fall 1998 tuition schedule and a recommended general fund operating budget for the University's 1998-99 fiscal year at its meeting Friday, July 24, in the Connable Board Room of the Bernhard Center.
The meeting begins at 11:30 a.m. Also on the agenda are gift, grant and personnel reports, a revised policy on biosafety and the naming of the Center for International Studies for Dr. Diether H. Haenicke. He is retiring from the presidency July 31 to return to the faculty. He has placed a major emphasis on international education during his 13 years as president.
The board's Academic and Student Affairs Committee will meet at 9:45 a.m. and its Budget and Finance Committee will meet at 10:15 a.m., both in Room 204 of the Bernhard Center. All meetings are open to the public.
