KALAMAZOO -- Playwright Richard Keller will present a reading from his work at Western Michigan University at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 24, in Room 3321 of Brown Hall. A reception will follow on the 10th floor of Sprau Tower. The reading, sponsored by WMU's Department of English, is free and open to the public.
Keller, who teaches playwriting at WMU, is the 1996-97 Playwriting Fellow at the Fine Arts Work Center in Provincetown, Mass., and a past Literary Associate at Primary Stages, an off-Broadway theater in New York City. He founded the Turnip Theatre Company, an off-off Broadway company and has produced many play festivals, including the 15-Minute Play Festival, which is now in its fifth year. Keller's own plays have been produced in numerous theaters in New York City including Theatre Row, The Manhattan Punchline Theatre, the Thirteenth Street Theatre, Ensemble Studio Theatre, The Westbank Cafe and La Mama Galleria.
A member of the Dramatist Guild, he received a master's degree
in creative writing at New York University.
