KALAMAZOO -- The University completed a successful rollover
into the 21st century earlier this week, with all major physical
plant and computing systems fully operational and ready for the
start of the winter semester.
University offices opened Jan. 3, as scheduled, and classes began
Jan. 5.
"I am delighted that the transition went so smoothly," says Viji Murali, vice president for information technology and chief information officer. "The years of planning, testing and remediation by our Year 2000 Project teams ensured a successful rollover into the new year."
Murali says information technology personnel will continue to work with the University community to address any Y2K issues that may surface in the coming weeks and months.
