Jan. 17, 2000

KALAMAZOO -- Senior Shelsea Erving led the Broncos with 22 points in an 87-47 rout of the University at Buffalo on Monday (Jan. 17) at University Arena. Erving moved into third place on the WMU career scoring list and needs just 76 points more to overtake her former coach, Pat Charity, for second place.

Five Broncos scored in double figures. Rookie Kristin Koetsier had 17 points on 7 of 10 shooting and had a team high nine rebounds. For the second consecutive game, senior Danielle Mueller came up just one rebound shy of her third double-double of the season. Mueller contributed 10 points and nine rebounds in both of the win over Buffalo and the last Wednesday's (Jan. 12) victory at Akron.

Sophomore guard Brianne Gallert had a season-high 14 points and contributed four assists and five rebounds. In just 15 minutes of action off the bench, senior Dionne Lassila scored 10 points, also her high total for the season. Guard Brooke Gallert led WMU with eight assists.

WMU improves to 7-7 overall and remains perfect, 4-0, in the Mid-American Conference. The Broncos have won five straight contests and are undefeated, 4-0, on their home court this season. WMU has also won its past two road games, following a five-game road losing streak in December.

WMU continues MAC action on Thursday, Jan. 20, when they travel to Bowling Green. The Broncos return home on Saturday, Jan. 22, for a 2 p.m. contest versus MAC East leader Kent at University Arena.
