ATHENS, Ohio -- Thadus Williams had his second consecutive "career game" as WMU's men's basketball team edged Ohio, 78-74, in overtime on Saturday (Jan. 22).
Williams, a senior from Indianapolis, had a game-high 25 points on six of 11 shooting from the field and eight of 11 from the free throw strip. Fifteen of his 25 points came from three-point range.
With the win, Western Michigan improves to 7-9 overall and 3-4 in the Mid-American Conference. The Broncos have won three of their past four contests, all in MAC competition.
Senior Rod Brown had 13 points, eight assists, and three rebounds for WMU. Senior Tony Barksdale scored 15 points and had two assists. Freshman Jon Powell (Dayton, Ohio) had six rebounds and also got in double-figure scoring for WMU with 11 points.
WMU continues on the road Jan. 26 at Buffalo, and returns home Saturday, Jan. 29, for a 2:30 p.m. game with Miami University.
