KALAMAZOO -- Senior Tony Barksdale hit a fade-away jumper as time expired to lift WMU's men's basketball team to a 51-49 victory over Miami University on Saturday (Jan. 29) at WMU's University Arena.
Barksdale had 12 points for the afternoon. Senior Emil Mulic contributed 13 points on 6 of 10 shooting from the field.
With the win, the Broncos improve to 8-10 overall and 4-5 in the Mid-American Conference. They have won three of their past four contests, all against MAC opponents. Nine of the Broncos' 18 games this season have been decided by four points or less. WMU is 5-4 in those contests.
Beginning with the Miami game, the Broncos play four MAC opponents in a span of eight days. WMU travels to Kent on Monday, Jan. 31, and returns home to host Eastern Michigan on Wednesday, Feb. 2, and Akron on Saturday, Feb. 5.
