KENT, Ohio -- Senior Tony Barksdale led all players with 26 points, and three Broncos scored in double figures, but it wasn't enough as WMU's men's basketball team lost, 68-62, at Kent on Monday (Jan. 31).
Barksdale was nine of 15 from the field, including six of eight from three-point range. Freshman Taylor Bro had a game-high nine rebounds and contributed 11 points to the Bronco effort. Senior Rod Brown also scored in double figures with 14 points and had six rebounds.
With the loss, WMU falls to 8-11 overall and 4-6 in the Mid-American Conference. Kent's record is 16-4 for all games and 8-3 MAC.
In a span of just eight days, the Broncos meet four MAC opponents. WMU is 1-1 so far in that four-game stretch. The Broncos return home to host Eastern Michigan on Wednesday, Feb. 2, beginning at 7 p.m., and Akron on Saturday, Feb. 5, beginning at 2 p.m. Both games will be played in University Arena.
