KALAMAZOO -- The WMU men's basketball team dropped a Mid-American West Division showdown against Eastern Michigan by a score of 68-43 Wednesday night (Feb. 2). The game was played in front of 2,516 fans at WMU's University Arena.
The Broncos are now 8-12 for all games and 4-7 in the conference. EMU improved to 12-8 overall, 6-5 MAC. WMU has lost two in a row and three of its past four contests, all against MAC opponents.
Eastern Michigan led, 32-21, at the intermission and had three players score in double figures. Freshman Jon Powell, 10 points, was the only Bronco in double-figure scoring. Senior Brad Van Timmeren led WMU with eight rebounds and contributed seven points, the second highest total for Western.
The Broncos will play their fourth game in eight days when they host Akron on Saturday, Feb. 5, beginning at 2 p.m.
