Trustees consider administrative appointments, room and board rates

KALAMAZOO -- Consideration of several top-level administrative appointments and approval of room and board and apartment rental rates for the 2000-2001 year are on the agenda when the Western Michigan University Board of Trustees meets Thursday, April 20.

Meeting at 3:15 p.m. in the Connable Board Room of the Bernhard Center, trustees will be asked to approve a number of administrative appointments, including the previously announced appointment of Dr. Frederick J. Dobney as provost and vice president for academic affairs as well as the appointments of a vice provost for continuing education, two new deans, two associate deans and three department heads.

Among other items on the agenda are proposals concerning the relocation of the University's Lansing Regional Center, name changes for two academic units and presentation of an honorary degree. In addition, the board will hear reports detailing gift and grant activity for the months of January, February and March.

Board committee meetings will precede the full board meeting. They will be held in Room 204 of the Bernhard Center at the following times: Academic and Student Affairs Committee at 1 p.m. and Budget and Finance Committee at 2:15 p.m. All meetings are open to the public.
