Joe B. Freeman

Joe B. Freeman, former associate director of news services, died June 21 in Kalamazoo. He was 81.
Freeman spent two decades at WMU before retiring in 1983. He served as the student newspaper and yearbook adviser for many years. Prior to joining WMU he was public relations director for the Kalamazoo County Chamber of Commerce and worked at radio station WKMI.
After retiring, Freeman taught classes at Nazareth College, did public relations for the American Red Cross and reviewed plays for the Kalamazoo Gazette.
