
Trustees to elect officers for 2001

KALAMAZOO -- The Western Michigan University Board of Trustees
will elect its officers for 2001 when it meets Friday, Jan. 19.
Gathering at 2:30 p.m. in the Connable Board Room of the Bernhard
Center, trustees also will consider recommendations to award
an honorary degree at April commencement ceremonies, to establish
a new academic major, to consider department separation and transfer
recommendations, and to ratify a new contract with employees
who are members of the Michigan State Employees Association.
In addition, the board will consider personnel reports. They
also will hear a report detailing November gifts to the University
and a grant report covering the months of November and December.
Board committee meetings will precede the full board meeting.
They will be held in Room 204 of the Bernhard Center at the following
times: Academic and Student Affairs Committee at 1:15 p.m. and
Budget and Finance Committee at 1:30 p.m. All meetings are open
to the public.
