
WMU and Delta Airlines to announce partnership

BATTLE CREEK, Mich. -- A new initiative joining the resources
of Western Michigan University's College of Aviation and Delta
Air Lines will be announced Tuesday, Jan. 9.
Representatives from Delta's corporate headquarters in Atlanta
will fly into Battle Creek's W.K. Kellogg Airport for a 1:30
p.m. announcement that will take place in the library of WMU's
Aviation Education Center.
Participants in the event will include Malcolm (Mac) Armstrong,
executive vice president for operations at Delta; George Franklin,
chairperson of the WMU Board of Trustees; WMU President Elson
S. Floyd; Dr. Richard Wright, dean of the College of Aviation;
Gregory A. Lyman, senior vice president and corporate secretary
for the W. K. Kellogg Foundation; and Bob Brown, president of
the Organization of Black Airline Pilots.
Also attending will be a number of additional Delta executives,
Battle Creek political and economic leaders, area legislators
and University officials.
