
Miller Ticket Jamboree is Saturday

KALAMAZOO -- Spring is in the air, and so is Miller Auditorium's
fourth annual Ticket Jamboree. The festival will kick off the
2001-02 season single-ticket sales to the public on Saturday,
May 19. Doors open at 7 a.m., activities and entertainment begin
at 9 a.m., with the ticket office is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Those who come dressed as their favorite star from Miller's
upcoming season can enter in the "Star Look-a-Like Contest."
Registration for the look-a-like contest will take place at the
information table from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Five winners will be
announced at 2 p.m., and each winner will receive a pair of tickets
to any Miller show (excluding Broadway series) in the Spotlight
Events.
Other highlights of the day's activities are listed below.
7 a.m. - Doors open. First 50 in line to purchase tickets
will receive complimentary Miller bags. Refreshments served.
9 a.m. to 3 p.m. -- Activities
- Juggling demonstration and lesson
- Rainstick making
- Cookie decorating
- Free Balloons for kids
- Sidewalk Chalk drawing
- Little Bear coloring
- Peter Piper Pizza Family Package raffle (one per hour)
- Kids' gift giveaways
10 a.m. to 4 p.m. -- Ticket office open
11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. -- Photos with Buster Bronco
2 p.m. -- Winners announced for "Star Look-a-Like Contest"
Limited amounts of free food and refreshments will be available
periodically throughout the day. Klein's Deli and Bagel Factory
will donate bagels and cream cheese, Little Caesar's will provide
pizza and coupons, and TCBY will donate frozen yogurt.
Radio stations broadcasting from the Miller Ticket Jamboree
include WFAT, WQLR, COOL 101 WQXC, and Cumulus Stations WRKR,
WKMI and WKFR, which will be registering people to win a home
theater system.

Klein's Deli and Bagel Factory, Little Caesar's, TCBY, Peking
Palace, Little Cities Gallery, Peter Piper Pizza, Big Apple Bagel,
Record Town in Maple Hill Mall, Koopsen's of Kalamazoo, Video
Hits Plus, Coffee Works, the Kalamazoo Valley Museum and WMU's
Office of University Relations.
