Centennial prompts new design for stationery
Aug. 10, 2001
KALAMAZOO -- WMU's recently unveiled centennial logo will
be available for use on University stationery and publications
beginning this fall.
Designed in the Office of University Relations, the letterhead
features the centennial seal in gold and a bold type treatment
replacing the current University signature.
"As we promote the anniversary of our founding, this
is an opportune time to give our stationery a face lift,"
says Matt Kurz, associate vice president for university relations.
"Ideally, we envision the entire University switching over
to the new stationery this year or next as we head into the centennial
celebration."
Printing services will be contacting offices and departments
soon for the annual mass stationery order. Staff members are
encouraged to use all existing stationery before switching to
the new design. Kurz also urges managers to be cautious when
ordering new supplies, given the area code change that will take
effect in summer 2002.
University relations will issue design guidelines soon for
use of the new logo in publications and on the Web. For more
information or for a copy of the guidelines, contact David H.
Smith at <david.h.smith@wmich.edu>.
