Willie Nelson in concert at Miller Auditorium
Sept. 20, 2001
KALAMAZOO -- Country music legend Willie Nelson will be at
Miller Auditorium on Monday, Oct. 1, for a single concert performance
beginning at 7 p.m.
Tickets range from $42 to $20 and are available through the
Miller Auditorium Ticket Office at 616 387-2300, the Epic Center
in downtown Kalamazoo, and on the Web at <www.millerauditorium.com>.
In his long and eclectic career, Willie Nelson has recorded
country music, standards and gospel. Now with the release of
Milk Cow Blues, his third album for Island Records, Willie Nelson
has added the blues to his extensive musical repertoire.
Growing up in a tiny central Texas farming community of Abbott,
Willie Nelson is no stranger to the blues. Hearing gospel from
his grandparents, blues and Mexican corridas from the migrant
and tenant farmers, and country and Western Swing hits on the
airwaves has inevitably created his own style. From his 1975
breakthrough album, RedHeaded Stranger, to his current blues
album, Willie Nelson has made a mark in musical history.
