
Trustees to consider presidential compensation

KALAMAZOO -- The Western Michigan University Board of Trustees
will discuss its annual evaluation of WMU President Elson S.
Floyd and set his compensation for the coming year during a Friday,
Oct. 26, meeting.
Gathering at 2:30 p.m. in the Connable Board Room of the Bernhard
Center, trustees also will consider recommendations to approve
the implementation of three new master's degree programs as well
as a new graduate certificate program.
In addition, the board will consider lengthy personnel reports
and will hear the year-end grant report for the 2000-01 fiscal
year as well as gift and grant reports that cover the months
of July, August and September.
The meeting of the full board in the Bernhard Center's Connable
Board Room will be preceded by meetings of the board's two standing
committees in Room 204 of the Bernhard Center. The Academic and
Student Affairs Committee will meet at 1 p.m., while the Budget
and Finance Committee meeting is slated for 1:30 p.m.
