
Some e-mail service will be interrupted Oct. 12-13

KALAMAZOO -- The WMU Office of Information Technology announced
today that some e-mail service at the University will be interrupted
between 6 and 8 a.m. on Friday and Saturday, Oct. 12-13.
On Friday, Oct. 12, VMS machine Kanga will be down from 6
to 8 a.m. during installation of new fiber channel. Only Kanga
will be affected on Friday.
On Saturday, Oct. 13, VMS machines Kanga and Tigger, as well
as services Winnie and ems.cc.wmich.edu will be down from 6 to
8 a.m. for installation of new hardware.
Saturday's interruption will also affect users of these machines
for POP and IMAP mail servers, including Web Mail users who have
set their server to be "Winnie (OpenVMS)." After the
machines are returned to operation, all mail will be delivered.
The shutdowns will not affect modem users.
