KALAMAZOO -- WMU students seeking campus jobs will have their pick of positions when dozens of campus employers turn out for the University's second Campus Employment Fair, Thursday, Aug. 29, from 9 a.m. to noon at the WMU Student Recreation Center.
The event is expected to attract first-time students and upperclassmen in search of campus work, says Shauna Bentley, a graduate assistant in the WMU's Career & Student Employment Services and Career Employment Fair coordinator.
"Employers will be offering everything from office work in specific colleges to jobs in areas like logistical services and the library," Bentley says.
While many students flocked to last year's fair, lured in part by the convenience of working on campus and the flexibility of arranging a job schedule around their classes, more inquiries this year are coming in from outside callers -- parents.
"Parents know how much it costs to attend a university these days, and how much they have available toward their child's expenses. Often, they are the ones calling for applications and asking questions," Bentley says.
In addition to participating in the fair, employers also will list openings online at <broncojobs.wmich.edu>.
