Considering QuickBooks? Expert can help with the decision

Nov. 2, 2002

KALAMAZOO -- Western Michigan University and the Battle Creek Area Chamber of Commerce are joining forces for a program Monday, Nov. 11, when a local accounting manager will help entrepreneurs decide if QuickBooks software is a good option for their business.

Bridget Daniel of Alternative Tax Solutions will present "Is QuickBooks Right for You?" from 6 to 8 p.m. at WMU-Battle Creek's Kendall Center, 50 West Jackson. Part of a monthly series co-sponsored by WMU's Women's Business Development Center and the chamber, the program is free and open to the public.

Daniel will outline things entrepreneurs should know before buying QuickBooks; give an overview of the small business accounting software's capabilities; and touch on the EasyStep interview, setup of chart of accounts and how to navigate the program. She will also offer tips for banking and for setting up employees and customers.

An accounting manager at Alternative Tax Solutions in Battle Creek, Daniel prepares tax returns for individuals and businesses as well as periodic federal, state and local tax forms. She frequently instructs clients on how to use and get the most out of QuickBooks software. A graduate of Kellogg Community College, where she earned her associate's degree in accounting and business management, she is currently pursuing her bachelor's degree at Siena Heights University.

Reservations are required. For more information or to reserve a seat, contact the Battle Creek Area Chamber of Commerce at (269) 962-4076.
