Presidential position description tops trustees' agenda
Jan. 22, 2003
KALAMAZOO -- The job description for Western Michigan University's
presidency and the qualities sought in the person who fills that
job will be presented for approval by the University's trustees
when they meet at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 24, in the Connable Board
Room of the Bernhard Center.
The presidential position specification was reviewed by the
University's Presidential Search Advisory Committee when it met
earlier this month to begin the search process. The committee
was established by the board at its Dec. 13 meeting.
During the Jan. 24 meeting, trustees also are expected to
hold their annual election of officers, hear gift, grant and
personnel reports, and consider recommendations to approve departmental
name changes, a lease agreement and the appointment of an external
auditor.
The meeting of the full board of trustees will be preceded
by meetings of the board's two standing committees in Room 204
of the Bernhard Center. The Budget and Finance Committee will
meet at 10 a.m. and the Academic and Student Affairs Committee
is slated to begin at 10:30 a.m.
