
'Help Desk' returns

KALAMAZOO -- For the past two years, the official name has
been the "Solution Center," but as of Friday, Western
Michigan University officials bowed to convention and returned
the name of the computing center help desk to... "Help Desk."
The Help Desk is a student-staffed resource that provides
technical assistance to students, faculty and staff on supported
products and Office of Information Techology services. During
fall and spring semesters, Help Desk students can be reached
at 387-5161 from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. weekdays and noon to 10 p.m.
Sundays. The Help Desk operates on reduced hours during summer
sessions and holidays and is closed Saturdays throughout the
year.
WMU students, faculty and staff may also send questions by
e-mail to <helpdesk@wmich.edu>,
and help with common problems is available through the Help Desk
Web site at <www.wmich.edu/oit/helpdesk>.
