
Accounting scholarships awarded

KALAMAZOO -- Sixteen Western Michigan University students
recently were awarded scholarships by the Department of Accountancy
in the Haworth College of Business. Awarded for the 2003-04 academic
year, the scholarships recognize students for their academic
excellence and extracurricular participation in the department's
activities. The awards were presented at the annual spring banquet
of the department and Beta Alpha Psi, an honorary accountancy
fraternity.
Andrew Beilman of St. Joseph, Mich., was recently honored
for high academic achievement with the Yeo and Yeo Scholarship.
A senior majoring in accountancy, he is the son of Terry Beilman
of Galien and Miriam Irvin of Stevensville.
Laura Bekemeier of Frankenmuth, Mich., was recently
honored for high academic achievement with the Department of
Accountancy Scholarship. A sophomore majoring in accountancy,
she is the daughter of David and Cathy Bekemeier of Frankenmuth.
Kelly Bradley of Corunna, Mich., was recently honored
for high academic achievement with the Department of Accountancy
Scholarship. A junior majoring in accountancy and a member of
the Lee Honors College, she is the daughter of Thomas and Sherrie
Bradley of Owosso.
Ryan Breisach of Kalamazoo was recently honored for
high academic achievement with the Department of Accountancy
Scholarship. A sophomore majoring in accountancy and a member
of the Lee Honors College, he is the son of Eric and Tobi Breisach
of Kalamazoo.
Charles Conner of Ricton Park, Ill., was recently honored
for high academic achievement with the PricerwaterhouseCoopers
Scholarship. A senior majoring in accountancy, he is the son
of Charles and Ida Conner of Matteson.
Laura Courtade of Coopersville, Mich., was recently
honored for high academic achievement with the Gale E. Newell
Scholarship. A sophomore majoring in accountancy and a member
of the Lee Honors College, she is the daughter of William and
Beth Courtade of Coopersville.
Kimberly Dombecki of Shelby Township, Mich., was recently
honored for high academic achievement with the David and Sandy
Rozelle Scholarship. A junior majoring in accountancy, she is
the daughter of Len and Nancy Dombecki of Shelby Township.
Kelly Kazmer of Sterling Heights, Mich., was recently
honored for high academic achievement with the Deloitte and Touche
Scholarship. A senior majoring in accountancy, she is the daughter
of Mark and Karen Kazmer of Sterling Heights.
Sarah Keenan of Sterling Heights, Mich., was recently
honored for high academic achievement with the Department of
Accountancy Scholarship. A junior majoring in accountancy, she
is the daughter of James and Julie Keenan of Sterling Heights.
Jillian LaLonde of Davison, Mich., was recently honored
for high academic achievement with the Department of Accountancy
Scholarship. A junior majoring in accountancy, she is the daughter
of Michael and Sharon LaLonde of Davison.
Dawn Mason of Coldwater, Mich., was recently honored
for high academic achievement with the The Fred Everett Scholarship,
sponsored by Plante and Moran. A graduate student seeking her
master's degree in accountancy, she is the daughter of Wanda
Warner of Burnettsville, Indiana.
Sanjay Mittal of Bangalore, Katnataka, India, was recently
honored for high academic achievement with the Ernst and Young
Scholarship. A senior majoring in accountancy and a member of
the Lee Honors College, he is the son of Subhash and Dulari Mittal.
Lynn Piasecki of Lansing, Mich., was recently honored
for high academic achievement with the Maner, Costerisan &
Ellis Scholarship. A junior majoring in accountancy and a member
of the Lee Honors College, she is the daughter of John and Judy
Piasecki of Lansing.
Natasha Richards of Woodhaven, Mich., was recently
honored for high academic achievement with the Department of
Accountancy Scholarship. A graduate student seeking her master's
degree in accountancy, she is the daughter of Pat Richards of
Woodhaven and Bob and Barbara Richards of Glendale, Arizona.
Courtney Rousselle of Middleville, Mich., was recently
honored for high academic achievement with the Crowe, Chizek,
and Company Outstanding Accounting Student Scholarship. A senior
majoring in accountancy, she is the daughter of Edward Rousselle
of Coloma and Patricia Giar of Freeport.
Shaun Zmuda of Redford, Mich., was recently honored
for high academic achievement with the William Maze Scholarship.
A senior majoring in accountancy, he is the son of Ray and Sharon
Zmuda of Detroit.
