Tickets on sale for both Marineau-Mazzie concerts

KALAMAZOO -- Tickets for the Sept. 4 concert featuring Broadway stars and Western Michigan University alumnae Marin Mazzie and Barbara Marineau went on sale to the general public today, Aug. 25.

Mazzie and Marineau will present an evening of their favorite solos and duets from the American musical theatre on Thursday and Friday, Sept. 4 and 5, in Shaw Theatre. Tickets for the Sept. 5 concert went on sale to the general public on Aug. 15.

Mazzie, class of '82, and Marineau, class of '72, will make their return to Kalamazoo as part of WMU's Centennial Celebration. The concert is part of the Centennial Scholar and Artist Series, a special lineup of lectures, performances and presentations planned for WMU alumni, faculty, staff, students and the Kalamazoo-area community.

Together, the WMU Alumni Association, the Department of Theatre and the University Theatre Guild are hosts of the two nights of Broadway entertainment to raise money for student scholarships. On Sept. 4, the Alumni Association performance will begin at 8 p.m. The Sept. 5 concert will serve as the 24th Annual President's Performance and will begin with hors d'oeuvres at 5:45 p.m., dinner at 6:45 p.m. and performance at 8 p.m., followed by a champagne-with-desert afterglow. Both performances will raise money for Department of Theatre scholarships.

Good seats are still available for both shows. Tickets for both concerts are $40 standard admission; $35 for seniors, faculty and staff; and $15 for students. Tickets for Alumni Association members for the Sept. 4 concert are $35. Tickets for the Sept. 4 show may be purchased by calling (269) 387-8777.
