Engineering job fair is at Parkview Campus
Sept. 22, 2003
KALAMAZOO -- A variety of job opportunities for engineers
will be showcased on Western Michigan University's Parkview Campus
during the eighth annual Engineering Opportunity Day from 10
a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 25, in the new engineering and
applied sciences facility, located at 4601 Campus Drive near
the intersection of Parkview Avenue and Drake Road.
The event is open to the public as well as WMU students alumni
and faculty. It will allow those attending to network with employers,
discuss career opportunities and learn about current industry
needs. About 45 companies from across Southwest Michigan, the
state and nation will be on hand to promote their organizations
and recruit WMU students and alumni for internships and full-time,
part-time and co-op positions. Employers will conduct informal
interviews at the event for WMU candidates only, and some will
be scheduling follow-up interviews.
The day is being sponsored by WMU's Career and Student Employment
Services and College of Engineering and Applied Sciences. No
pre-registration is required. Job-seekers who attend should dress
in business or business-casual attire and bring a supply of resumes
to distribute to employers.
