Three from WMU take prize for lubrication engineering paperOct. 27, 2003 KALAMAZOO -- Three engineers from Western Michigan University will be awarded the Captain Alfred E. Hunt Memorial Medal from the Society of Tribologists and Lubrication Engineers. Award recipents are Philip Guichelaar, professor of mechanical and aeronautical engineering; Molly Williams, associate dean in the College of Engineering and Applied Sciences; and Deborah Wilde, a 2000 alumna. The award honors the best paper dealing with the field of lubrication and published in a society publication. Their paper "The Effect of Oil Type on Blister Formation in Carbon-Graphite Mechanical Seals" was published in the Journal Lubrication Engineering. The award will be given Oct. 28 at the 2003 Tribology Conference in Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla.
