'President Waldo' schedules campus appearance
Nov. 12, 2003
KALAMAZOO--Anyone interested in learning more about Western
Michigan University's first president is invited to attend "Dwight
B. Waldo Speaks" at 3 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 20, in the lounge
of the Lee Honors College.
The free program is a living history presentation that David
Isaacson, humanities librarian for the University's Waldo Library,
developed in honor of WMU's ongoing centennial celebration.
For the entertaining and informative dramatization, Isaacson
dons period attire and assumes the persona of Waldo. He brings
the University's most venerated administrator to life through
techniques such as monologues and storytelling, allowing audiences
to gain a better understanding of the real Dwight Waldo.
Isaacson presents the program on and off campus as time permits.
