
Concert Band gives free concert in Miller Auditorium

KALAMAZOO--Tuesday, Feb. 17, the University Concert Band offers
a free performance beginning at 8:15 p.m. in Miller Auditorium
at Western Michigan University.
A varied concert opens with the well-known "Russlan and
Ludmilla Overture" by Russian composer Michael Glinka. The
program will also include Antonio Lotti's "Grant Us Thy
Mercy" and John Philip Sousa's "King Cotton."
Graduate assistant Matthew Lefebvre will conduct three movements
from Gordon Jacob's "Music for a Festival." Claude
Smith's "Festival Variations" will bring the program
to a rousing finish.
