
WFS presents 'Girl With a Pearl Earring'

KALAMAZOO--Western Film Society presents the area debut of
"Girl with a Pearl Earring," starring Colin Firth and
Scarlett Johansson.
Show times for are 7 and 9:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, March
26-27, and 2:30 and 5 p.m. Sunday, March 28. Tickets are $3 for
students and $5 for the general public.
In "Girl with a Pearl Earring," Scarlett Johansson
plays Griet, a peasant forced to work in the home of painter
Johannes Vermeer, and eventually becomes the model for his most
famous painting. The film is based on the novel by Tracy Chevalier,
and was nominated for three Oscars and two Golden Globes.
Screenings take place at the Little Theatre on the corner
of Oakland Drive and Oliver Street on Western Michigan University's
East Campus. Free off-street parking is available behind the
