
PBS series on 'Illusion of Race' repeats beginning Monday

KALAMAZOO--The three-part PBS television series, "Race--The
Power of an Illusion," will repeat with three evening screenings
at Western Michigan University beginning Monday, April 5.
All three episodes of the PBS series will be shown at 7 p.m.
at the Lewis Walker Institute for Race and Ethnic Relations in
Welborn Hall. The screenings are free and opening to the public,
and those attending are welcome to remain for a 30-minute discussion
period following each one-hour episode.
The first episode, "The Differences Between Us,"
will be shown Monday, April 5; the second part, "The Story
We Tell," will be shown Wednesday, April 7, and the final
installment, "The House We Live In," will be shown
Thursday, April 8.
"Race--The Power of an Illusion" includes interviews
with Dr. Joseph L. Graves Jr., who will lecture of "The
Illusion of Race" Tuesday and Wednesday, April 6-7, for
the fifth annual "Respecting Differences" lecture series
in Kalamazoo.
The three-part program was also shown as a lunchtime series
at the Walker Institute beginning Monday, March 29. The final
noon series installment is April 5.
