April 13, 2004

KALAMAZOO--Western Michigan University's men's tennis team can clinch the Mid-American Conference championship with a victory Saturday, April 17, versus Ball State University at WMU's Sorensen Courts.

Admission is free to the 1 p.m. match, and the first 75 fans to arrive will receive a free Bronco tennis shirt. In case of inclement weather, the match will be moved to West Hills Athletic Club.

WMU is 16-6 overall and 4-0 against MAC competition. A Bronco victory against Ball State would give the team its first MAC title since 2000 and 18th conference title overall, tieing WMU with Miami University for the most men's tennis championships in MAC history.
