Arthur L. Christensen

Arthur L. Christensen, assistant professor emeritus of education and professional development at Western Michigan University, died Aug. 17 in Kalamazoo. He was 80.

Christensen taught at WMU from 1959 until his retirement in 1984. He began his University tenure as a high school English teacher in the campus school, then taught and worked with students who were doing their professional field experience, primarily in Allegan County schools.

Prior to coming to WMU, he was a public school teacher in Greenville and Holly, Mich. An officer of the Phi Delta Kappa professional fraternity for 10 years, Christensen earned his bachelor's degree from the University of Michigan and his master's degree from WMU.
