Event showcases careers in engineering

Sept. 13, 2004

KALAMAZOO--Job opportunities for engineers will be showcased on Western Michigan University's Parkview Campus during the eighth annual Engineering Opportunity Day from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 23, in the College of Engineering and Applied Sciences Building.

The event is free and open to the public, but is geared for WMU students, alumni and faculty. Those attending will be able to network with employers, discuss career opportunities and learn about current industry needs. Representatives of about 55 companies will be promoting their organizations and recruiting WMU students and alumni for internships and full-time, part-time and co-op positions. No pre-registration is required. Jobseekers should dress appropriately and bring a supply of resumes to distribute to employers.

Sponsoring the event are WMU's Career and Student Employment Services and the College of Engineering and Applied Sciences.

The entrance to the Parkview Campus, which officially opened one year ago, is located at the intersection of Parkview Avenue and Drake Road.
