Helen Horn honored for 37 years service

KALAMAZOO--Helen M. Horn will be honored for her 37 years of service to Western Michigan University at a retirement reception from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Friday, April 29, at the Oaklands. Colleagues and friends from the campus and Kalamazoo communities are invited to attend.

Horn has served as budget specialist in the Office of the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs since 1995. She joined the WMU staff in 1968 as executive secretary to Dr. George Kohrman Sr., then dean of the School of Applied Arts and Sciences, and served for 27-1/2 years as an administrative assistant in what became the College of Engineering and Applied Sciences, before joining the staff in the provost's office.

Prior to coming to WMU, Horn worked for five years at two Kalamazoo area radio stations. Her retirement from the university is officially effective June 19.
