Accountancy scholarship recipients announced

KALAMAZOO--Seventeen students in the Department of Accountancy in Western Michigan University's Haworth College of Business were recently awarded scholarships for the 2005-06 academic year. The scholarships recognize students who have displayed academic excellence.

Nicholas Amad of Westland, Mich., was honored for high academic achievement with the Doeren Mayhew Scholarship, sponsored by Doeren Mayhew. A senior majoring in accountancy, he is the son of Ron and Kimberly Anderson.

Tara Andorfer of Eaton Rapids, Mich., was honored for high academic achievement with the Maner, Costerisan & Ellis Scholarship, sponsored by Maner, Costerisan & Ellis PC. A June 2005 graduate who majored in accountancy, she is the daughter of Robert and Corina Andorfer.

Jaesun Bae of St. Joseph, Mich., was honored for high academic achievement with the David and Sandy Rozelle Scholarship, sponsored by David and Sandy Rozelle. A junior majoring in accountancy, she is the daughter of Won Chul and Kyoung Ok Bae.

Ryan Breisach of Kalamazoo was honored for high academic achievement with the Ernst & Young Award, sponsored by Ernst & Young. An April 2005 graduate who majored in accountancy, he is the son of Eric and Tobi Breisach. Breisach had the highest grade point average for a graduating senior in accounting.

Stacy Comrie of Galesburg, Mich., was honored for high academic achievement with the KPMG Scholarship, sponsored by KPMG. A junior majoring in accountancy, she is the daughter of Leo and Linda Comrie.

Alicia Flint of Coldwater, Mich., was honored for high academic achievement with the Deloitte Scholarship, sponsored by Deloitte. A sophomore majoring in accountancy, she is the daughter of Jon and Danita Flint.

Brett John of Plymouth, Mich., was honored for high academic achievement with the Yeo & Yeo Scholarship, sponsored by Yeo & Yeo PC. A junior majoring in accountancy, he is the son of Craig John and Beth Gates of Plymouth and of Teri John of Rochester Hills.

Thomas Kasper of Chicago Heights, Ill., was honored for high academic achievement with the BDO Seidman Accountancy Scholarship, sponsored by BDO Seidman LLP. A junior majoring in accountancy, he is the son of Tamara Lagone.

Melissa Kehoe of Menominee, Mich., was honored for high academic achievement with the Robert Wetnight Scholarship, sponsored by William Maze. A senior majoring in accountancy, she is the daughter of Steve and Donna Kehoe.

David Lemieur of Ada, Mich., was honored for high academic achievement with the Ernst & Young Scholarship, sponsored by Ernst & Young LLP. A senior majoring in accountancy, he is the son of Larry and Judy Lemieur.

Talat Mangla of Portage, Mich., was honored for high academic achievement with the PricewaterhouseCoopers Scholarship, sponsored by PricewaterhouseCoopers. A sophomore majoring in accountancy, she is the daughter of Dr. Inayat and Ayesha Mangla.

David Molnar of Mattawan, Mich., was honored for high academic achievement with the Jansen Valk Thompson Reahm Scholarship, sponsored by Jansen Valk Thompson & Reahm PC. A senior majoring in accountancy, he is the son of Timothy and Mary Molnar.

Laura Osborne of Delton, Mich., was honored for high academic achievement with the Crowe Chizek Scholarship, sponsored by Crowe Chizek and Company LLP. A sophomore majoring in accountancy, she is the daughter of Larry and Val Osborne.

Katherine Paris of New Lenox, Ill., was honored for high academic achievement with the Fredrick Everett Scholarship, sponsored by Plante & Morgan PLLC. A junior majoring in accountancy, she is the daughter of Rich and Linda Paris.

Haley Stears of Three Rivers, Mich., was honored for high academic achievement with the Gale Newell Scholarship, sponsored by Marshall & Poe LCC. A junior majoring in accountancy, she is the daughter of Mark and Pam Stears.

Shanell Sloan of Watervliet, Mich., was honored for high academic achievement with the Roger and Kim Pitzer Scholarship, sponsored by Roger and Kim Pitzer. A junior majoring in accountancy, she is the daughter of Robert and Vicki Sloan.

Annieka C. Zavala of Jackson, Mich., was honored for high academic achievement with the William Maze Scholarship, sponsored by William Maze. An April 2005 graduate who majored in accountancy, she is the daughter of Dave and Zully Bartley.
