Aug. 20, 2005
KALAMAZOO--Western Michigan University's fall semester formally opens at 4 p.m. Monday, Aug. 29, with the start of 2005-06 classes. But thousands of new and returning students will be on campus before then, settling in for a new semester, attending various events, and patronizing the WMU Bookstore and the Bernhard Center's Bronco Mall.
Early move-in for residence hall students starts at 9 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 23, when WMU kicks off its five-day comprehensive orientation program called Fall Welcome. The residence halls officially open at 9 a.m. Friday, Aug. 26. Most of the hall's expected 5,000 residents will be finished moving in by the end of the day Saturday Aug. 27. Student volunteers, dubbed Bronco Buddies, will be available on Aug. 23, 27 and 28 to help students move in.
