Career fair focuses on job opportunities for engineers

KALAMAZOO--Western Michigan University will showcase a range of job opportunities for engineers during the 10th annual Engineering Opportunity Day from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 29.
The fair is free and open to the public, but geared for WMU students, alumni and faculty. It will take place in WMU's main engineering building on the Parkview Campus, which is located at the intersection of Parkview Avenue and Drake Road in Kalamazoo.
Those attending will be able to network with employers, discuss career opportunities and learn about current industry needs.
Representatives of about 50 companies will be on hand to promote their organizations and recruit for internships as well as full-time, part-time and co-op positions. Employers will conduct informal interviews at the event, and some will schedule follow-up interviews.
Engineering Opportunity Day 2005 is being sponsored by WMU's College of Engineering and Applied Sciences and Career and Student Employment Services. No pre-registration is required to attend. Jobseekers should dress appropriately and bring copies of their resumes to distribute to employers.
