WMU Home > About WMU > WMU News Women's Chorus and Concert Choir perform in DaltonNov. 11, 2005 KALAMAZOO--Two Western Michigan University choirs will present a free program of varied works at 5 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 19, in the Dalton Center Recital Hall. The 34-member Women's Chorus will perform pieces by Gwyneth Walker, Imant Raminsh, Otmar Macha and Umberto Giordano. The choir is also pleased to perform "Celebremus," an unpublished piece by contemporary Canadian composer Ramona Luengen. The 56-voice Concert Choir will perform a piece in Latin, Mozart's "Veni Sancte Spiritus," one in English, "Dance a Cachucha" from the Gilbert & Sullivan operetta "The Gondoliers," and one in Zulu, a South African freedom song with the hymn "Of the Father's Love Begotten" superimposed.
