Nov. 28, 2005

KALAMAZOO--Western Michigan University's School of Music presents its annual "Christmas card to the community" with a free concert of holiday music Sunday, Dec. 4, at 3 p.m. in Miller Auditorium.

Popular with audiences of all ages, the School of Music holiday concert has become a regular part of celebrating the season for many area families. More than 250 musicians will present this year's holiday extravaganza, including the 180-voice University Grand Chorus, directed by Dr. Joe Miller, and the 80-member University Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Bruce Uchimura.

The highlight of the concert will be a performance of Mozart's Grand Mass in C Minor as well as holiday favorites including Handel's "Hallelujah Chorus" from "Messiah." A quartet performing in the Mozart piece will feature recent music alumni soloists Susan Musselman '02, Bradley Erbes '02 and Aaron Wardell '03. Guest artist Emily Truckenbrod will complete the quartet.
