NCAA honors baseball Broncos for academic excellence

KALAMAZOO--Western Michigan University's baseball team has been recognized for its academic excellence by National Collegiate Athletic Association.
Under a new program approved by the NCAA Division I Board of Directors in January, the top 10 percent of teams in each Division I sport, based on the NCAA's Academic Progress Rate, will be honored each year.
WMU and the University of Michigan are the only two baseball teams in the state that made the list. The Bronco baseball team has 20 student-athletes who hold an accumlative grade-point-averages of 3.0 or higher.
