KFS presents violent view of Australian Outback

KALAMAZOO--Kalamazoo Film Society presents "The Proposition," a graphic portrayal of violence in Australia's Old West, Friday through Sunday, Sept. 15-17, in the Little Theatre at Western Michigan University.

Little Theatre show times for "The Proposition" are 7 and 9:30 p.m. Friday; 4:30, 7 and 9:30 p.m. Saturday; and 2:30 and 5 p.m. Sunday. Admission is $5 and $3 for students. The film is rated R for language and extreme violence.

Starring Ray Winstone, Guy Pearce, Danny Huston, Emily Watson and John Hurt, "The Proposition" won Australian and international film awards for cinematography, costume design and music. Set in the unrelenting heat of the Outback, "The Proposition" is the story of brothers who are unable to escape their personal demons and find a tragic outlet only in ceaseless acts of aggression.
