Annual Rainbow Reception is Friday

Sept. 26, 2006

KALAMAZOO--Western Michigan University's Office of Lesbian, Bisexual, Gay and Transgender Student Services will hold its annual Rainbow Reception at 5 p.m. Friday, Sep. 29, in Ackley-Shilling Residence Hall.

The event, now in its fourth year, is free and open to all students, faculty and staff. It will start with a resource fair that will spotlight LBGT-related services and agencies available at WMU and in the Kalamazoo area. There also will be a community social beginning at 6 p.m.

The Rainbow Reception is designed to welcome new and returning LBGT students and their friends to campus and familiarize them with the resources and support available to them locally. It also gives members and friends of the University's LBGT community a chance to meet and socialize.

For more information, contact Kathleen Farrell in the LBGT student services office at lbgt-staff@wmich.edu or (269) 387-2123.

Media contact: Jeanne Baron, (269) 387-8400, jeanne.baron@wmich.edu
