Presidential search tops board's Friday agenda

KALAMAZOO--Western Michigan University's Board of Trustees is expected to adopt a formal resolution to guide its search for a new president when it meets in formal public session at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 20.
Meeting in Room 157 of the Bernhard Center, trustees also will consider recommendations involving a series of real estate transactions, the awarding of honorary degrees, revised bylaws for the WMU Foundation and policies on student fees and student background checks to fulfill new legal requirements.
In addition, the board is expected to hear reports on gifts received in July, August and September as well as grants awarded to WMU from June through September. Trustees also will consider a number of personnel items brought for the board's consideration.
