United Way campus campaign needs "big finish"

Nov. 6, 2006

KALAMAZOO--The 2006 United Way campus campaign at Western Michigan University has brought in more than $120,000 to date and needs a big final week to meet its $215,000 goal by the time of the ceremonial end to the campaign.

All members of the campus community are encouraged to make their gifts and pledges by Monday, Nov. 13, to be included in the campus total announced two days later.

"We will continue to accept gifts and pledges through the end of the year," says Lynn Kelly-Albertson, chair of the campus campaign, "but the total announced will only include those gifts and pledges received by next Monday."

The campus community is invited to a victory celebration from 4 to 5 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 15, in the Oaklands. WMU's campus campaign officially kicked off Oct. 3 and will help meet the Greater Kalamazoo United Way's $10.75 million overall goal.
