WMU Home > About WMU > WMU News Trombone Choir performs with KSO soloistApril 8, 2007 KALAMAZOO--Western Michigan University's 19-member University Trombone Choir will present its annual spring concert at 8:15 p.m. Tuesday, April 17, in the Dalton Center Recital Hall. The performance is free of charge and open to the public. Edward "Kip" Hickman, principal trombonist of the Kalamazoo Symphony Orchestra, will join the concert as a guest soloist. Also featured will be WMU student Evan J. Conroy, a sophomore majoring in bass trombone. He recently was selected as a semifinalist in the National Trombone Solo Competition, sponsored by the U.S. Army Band in Washington, D.C. Under the direction of Dr. Steve Wolfinbarger, associate professor of music at WMU, the ensemble will present a variety of selections from various musical periods, including arrangements for both trombone and percussion.
