WMU Home > About WMU > WMU News 2007 Air Race Classic 'flight log'June 22, 2007 BATTLE CREEK, Mich.--Pilots Jennifer Jakubiec and Alison Pierce represented Western Michigan University in the June 19-22 Air Race Classic, a 2,500-mile women's cross-country event that began in Oklahoma City and ended in St. John, New Brunswick. Racers made stops in McCook, Neb.; Denison, Iowa; Jefferson City, Mo.; Bowling Green, Ky.; Lewisburg, W.Va.; Elmira, N.Y.; Burlington, Vt.; and Bangor, Maine. Jakubiec is a WMU flight instructor and an April graduate of the College of Aviation. Pierce also is an April aviation graduate, who is now working on her flight instructor license. Both women were competing in their first Air Race Classic. Below are reports from the two WMU aviators, beginning with their departure from Oklahoma City. Click on the date for the complete report.
