WMU offices closed Independence Day

KALAMAZOO--Except for essential and emergency services, Western Michigan University offices will be closed Wednesday, July 4, in observance of U.S. Independence Day.
Listed below are Independence Day holiday hours for selected University offices and services. In nearly all cases, offices are closed Wednesday, July 4, and open during normal summer hours the remainder of the week. Faculty, students and the public are encouraged to call ahead to make sure that a particular office on campus is open. For emergencies only, contact WMU Public Safety at (269) 387-5555.
Admissions office is closed Wednesday, July 4.
Bernhard Center and all Bronco Mall stores are closed Wednesday, July 4.
Computer lab in the Bernhard Center is closed Wednesday, July 4; computer lab in UCC is open noon to 5 p.m., Wednesday, July 4.
Student Recreation Center is open reduced hours, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday and Tuesday, July 2-3; closed Wednesday, July 4; and open reduced hours 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday and Friday, July 5-6.
Sindecuse Health Center, including the pharmacy, is closed Wednesday, July 4. Medical emergencies should be referred to local hospitals or other health care providers.
Unified Clinics is closed Wednesday, July 4.
Waldo Library closes at midnight Tuesday, July 3, is closed Wednesday, July 4, and resumes normal summer hours at 8 a.m. Thursday, July 5.
To reduce energy costs while the University is closed, heating and cooling systems in all office and classroom buildings controlled by the WMU Building Energy Management System will be in "holiday mode." Air handlers will not run during this time, unless a space is exempt from the program or the temperature in a particular space goes outside of the range of 60 to 85 degrees. Portions of a particular building that do not normally go into "night setback mode," will not go into "holiday mode."
