First-quarter gift total tops $3 million

KALAMAZOO--According to a report at the Friday, Oct. 12, meeting of the Western Michigan University Board of Trustees, WMU received $3,285,781 in gifts from the July 1 start of the current fiscal year through Sept. 30.
The total represents an increase of $1.1 million or 52 percent over the amount received during the same three months of the previous fiscal year. It is also the largest total for gifts in the first quarter of any year since 2003, which was the final year of the University's centennial capital campaign.
