WMU Home > About WMU > WMU News Percussion ensemble gives free concertNov. 19, 2007 KALAMAZOO--The Western Michigan University Percussion Ensemble will perform at 8:15 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 27, in the Dalton Center Recital Hall. The free, public concert will include everything from marimba quartet to multiple percussion quintet. Among the featured works will be: "Omphalo Centric Circle," a marimba quartet written by Australian composer Nigel Westlake for the group Synergy Percussion; the classic percussion work, "Pulse," by Henry Cowell; "Les Moutons de Panurge" by Frederic Rzewski, whose works will be performed at the 2008 Gilmore International Keyboard Festival; and "DNA" for percussion quintet by Joan Tower, a contemporary American composer.
